Light Onboarding

Use Blikk Light Onboarding to send users into a streamlined onboarding flow where you can prefill identity values in the URL.

Query Parameters

You can append these query parameters to the Light Onboarding URL:

Parameter	Description	Behavior
id	Payment ID for a payment which should be initiated after onboarding.	Optional. If supplied, Light Onboarding continues the existing payment flow after the user completes onboarding. This is used when onboarding is triggered as part of an in-progress payment. If a phone number and/or external ID is prefilled on the payment, it takes precedence over URL-prefill values.
phoneNumber	User phone number	If it is a valid Icelandic phone number, the onboarding form is prefilled and the phone input is locked. If invalid, it is ignored.
externalId	User external ID (kennitala, Icelandic SSN)	If it is exactly 10 digits, the onboarding form is prefilled and the field is locked. If invalid, it is ignored.
redirectUrl	URL to return to after onboarding	Optional. If supplied, it is used as the post-onboarding redirect target. If omitted, the user stays on the onboarding page but is prompted with a message that a bank account was successfully onboarded.

Prefill both phoneNumber and externalId, and set a post-onboarding redirect:

Integrator Usage (with Existing "user exists" APIs)

Integrators can combine this with the existing "user exists" endpoints to decide whether to send a user to onboarding:

• ECOM: GET /users/{phone-number}/exist
• P2P: GET /user/{phoneNumber}

Typical usage:

1. Check whether the user already exists in Blikk.
2. If onboarding is needed, redirect the user to Light Onboarding with relevant query parameters.
3. Continue your normal app flow after onboarding completes.

Notes

• On our staging environment, onboarding of users can be tested by providing a valid Icelandic mobile phone number. One must select to authenticate using Auðkenniapp. No electronic ID authentication will be required. Only a OTP via SMS will be sent to the provided phone number.
• Parameter names are case-sensitive: use id, phoneNumber, externalId, and redirectUrl.
• If a value is already defined by the current onboarding/payment context, that existing value takes precedence over URL-prefill values. The id defines that context.
